Today I spent an artistic day for the first time in a while.
I saw the special exhibition Marc Chagall: Beyond Time at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho, and then lingered over the afterglow with a cup of coffee at Terarosa on the first floor.

💬 Review: meeting Chagall, the poet of color

From the entrance of the exhibition hall, the deep, vivid colors were striking.
I could see works on a wide range of themes, from Chagall's love, religion and war to Jewish culture, arranged by period,
and I was especially moved by signature works such as 'The Lovers', 'The Tree of Life' and 'The Peace Window of Jerusalem'.

🎧 I recommend the audio guide! It helps you understand the works and their historical background more deeply.

Some sections restricted photography, but that let me concentrate and immerse myself in the works all the more.
Besides paintings, you can also see a variety of techniques such as stained glass, etching and lithography.

☕ Terarosa Seoul Arts Center: a moment of calm with a drink after the exhibition

After the exhibition, I stayed a while at the Terarosa café on the first floor.
What I ordered was the house signature coffee, a rich, brewed-style coffee with a subtle fruity aroma.

The café is spacious, but because it was a Sunday it was really, really noisy. Still, the area displaying coffee, books and magazines is impressive.
Terarosa coffee beans and merchandise were also displayed in wide variety, so browsing was fun too.

📌 Closing thoughts

Chagall felt less like a mere painter and more like a poet who expressed emotion, memory and dreams in color.
The cup of coffee I drank at Terarosa after seeing his works, savoring the afterglow, was truly the perfect combination.
